Isn't it odd. We can only see our outsides, but nearly everything happens on the inside. ― Charlie Mackesy, The Boy, the Mole, the Fox and the Horse

As a Certified Co-Active Professional Coach (CPCC), an Associate Certified Coach (ACC) through the International Coaching Federation (ICF), and trained through Organizational Relationships and System Coaching(ORSC), I bring over a decade of experience in human resources within a Fortune 200 company, where I supported both emerging and seasoned leaders, as well as leading my own team. Through this journey, I have come to see that whether you’re an executive overseeing hundreds or a frontline worker striving to make ends meet, we all share a desire for a life that feels fulfilling and true to who we are.

On a personal note, I’m a parent, growing and learning alongside my school-age son every day. My family and I live in the San Francisco Bay Area. When I am not coaching, you can find me wandering through the deep Redwoods, a place that inspires me to reconnect, appreciate and bring that grounded energy into every aspect of my life.

Crossing the Pacific Ocean to pursue this new direction was a leap of faith that others deemed risky, but following my heart has led to a deeply rewarding 10+ years career in HR. Along the way, I’ve learned the value of courageous choices and the importance of listening to that inner calling.

My Journey

Originally from China, I came to the United States in my early 20s to pursue a path that resonated with my true interests. Although I initially studied Computer Science—a field that offered stability—I quickly realized that my heart wasn’t in it. Winning a scholarship alongside a peer whose passion for computers was clear helped me see that I, too, wanted work that would bring me joy.

An internship that involved building a statistical model for the recruiting department turned out to be exciting when I started connecting directly with applicants over the phone. Their trust in my guidance, even as an intern, sparked something within me, leading me to further my studies in Human Resources.

Stepping into Leadership

I began my career behind the scenes, a role often expected of Asian immigrants. Yet, I was drawn to roles that demanded conflict resolution and genuine engagement. Taking another leap, I stepped into a front-line HR role within a manufacturing company, eventually leading my own team. This experience was both humbling and enlightening, revealing that each person—from those working for a paycheck to senior leaders managing large scale business with hundreds of people—has dreams and purposes.

Through my work, I’ve come to realize that we’re all on a journey to discover who we are and what truly matters to us. I believe each of us deserves a life aligned with our true selves, and coaching has deepened this understanding in me. By embracing connection, courage, and authenticity, I’ve discovered my purpose: to support others in finding and expressing their voice, so that they are living with intention.
